America Burgers: Tel Aviv

My quest for burger bliss has brought me to the corner of Allenby and Ahad Haam. There you can find the top burger in my opinion in the city at America Burgers. America Burgers captures the essence of a classic burger joint that any American would be familiar with. Seriously, I felt like I was transported to my local diner back home in Massachusetts. The menu at America Burgers is solely focused on burgers. There are six burger option available at America Burgers. You can choose from a classic bacon cheeseburger, classic hamburger, the America burger with caramelized onions, a spicy burger featuring chipotle peppers, a fried chicken sandwich, and a veggie burger made from Portobello mushrooms. All burgers come with the usual fixings such as lettuce, onion, tomato, pickles, mayo, and ketchup. Side dishes available at America Burgers range from the ordinary french fry to the more unique fried pickles, and must try onion flower which is an equivalent to the blooming onion. Cocktails and beer on tap are also available to complete your perfect burger meal. Besides the fantastic food, the service is not typical for Israel in that the staff is actually friendly and wants to help out. The quality of service plus the awesome food, America Burgers is a must try for any burger enthusiast.

Benz & Cocktails

As an American abroad, I have been on a quest to find hamburger bliss here in Tel Aviv. My quest naturally has begun close to my apartment in Florentine. Amongst the hipsters, artists, want to be philosophers, stoners, and hi tech millennial youths there is a beacon of light that shines upon the neighborhood. The smell of grilling beef fat wasps through the air and you are drawn in like a moth to the flame. Benz & Cocktails grills up one heck of a burger at a very fair pricepoint. Their hamburger is 100% rib-eye and grilled to your liking. The hamburger itself comes with all the traditional fixings, Benz's homemade barbecue sauce, and is served on a challah bun. For an additional cost you can add a variety of toppings to your burger such as blue cheese, bacon, Emmental cheese, truffle butter, caramelized onions, and a fried egg. The single burger is 200 grams of beef, while the double is 400 grams. If you are feeling ravenous, the double should be the way to go for you. Benz has the ultimate accompaniment for your hamburger in their Provencal fries which is garlic and parsley butter flavored fries. Bayern: Tel Aviv

Located on Frishman Street in the center of Tel Aviv , Bayern serves an authentic slice of Bavaria. That means there are a variety of German beers on tap, a variety of German style sausages, a variety of schnitzels that are some of the best in the city, and other German delectable delights. Their menu staples which you have to try includes the cordon schnitzel which is a pork(or veal) schnitzel stuffed with bacon, ham, and gouda cheese. I highly recommend getting your cordon with two sunny-side up eggs. It is the German equivalent of the cordon blue. Its absolutely delicious and goes perfectly with beer. There is also on special sometimes what in German is called Schweinshaxe, which is a roasted ham hock. The staff is extremely friendly which creates a great dining atmosphere. All in all, Bayern is a spot to check out if you find yourself in the center of Tel Aviv. Prost!
