Guacamole is one of the most loved recipes that uses avocados. Guacamole is a favorite of many Americans and is consumed mostly with tortilla chips. The traditional guacamole might be the most obvious way Americans make this classic snack. Traditional guacamole has a lot of flavor already, but there is a way in which you can spice up any ordinary guacamole recipe. By adding blue cheese crumbles into your guacamole, you have transformed the ordinary into the extraordinary.
Ingredients:
3 avocados
half a red onion diced
three cloves of garlic minced
one tomato diced
One diced jalapeno(if you want less heat you should take out the seeds and white membrane)
juice of one lime
tablespoon of red wine vinegar
3/4 of a cup of chopped fresh cilantro
1/4 cup of blue cheese crumbles
salt
ground black pepper
Method:
First prepare the avocado by cutting around the center pit and scooping the flesh out of the skin with a spoon. Discard the avocado skins and pits. Place the avocado pieces in a large mixing bowl. Next prepare the diced and minced vegetables. Once all the vegetables are prepared place them in the large mixing bowl. Next add the juice of the lime, the tablespoon of red wine vinegar, and the blue cheese crumbles into the large mixing bowl. Now take a potato masher and mash all of the ingredients together. When the guacamole starts to take form, fold in the fresh cilantro. Add salt and pepper to taste. Serve with raw vegetables, pita chips, or tortilla chips. It is a perfect compliment to my mango salsa if you want to serve both guacamole and salsa.
