Boston is known for having some of the freshest and best tasting seafood in the country. Being known for seafood there are many places that are known for seafood in Boston nation wide. One of those legendary Boston seafood restaurants is Legal Seafood. Legal Seafood is a Boston legend that started as fish market in Inman Square, Cambridge. It has grown from that fish market into a seafood dining empire that has locations from Boston to Atlanta. Legal Seafood features diverse preparations of extremely fresh seafood. Menu items include traditional fried New England seafood, wood grilled seafood, steamers, lobsters, oysters, and their legendary chowder. Legal Seafood's clam chowder has gained an appreciation from almost every person that has had their chowder. Every time I go to Legal Seafood I have to have a bowl of it. It has even been served in the White House so you know it has to be good. Their clam chowder is not the only thing on the menu that is delicious. If you cannot decide what you want the fisherman's platter or the cioppino are great options. The fisherman's platter features shrimp, scallop, whitefish, clams, and calamari all fried up like at the shore. The cioppino is a fisherman's stew filled with lobster, shrimp, clams, mussels, scallops, whitefish, in a spicy tomato broth. If you want a lobster dinner, Legal has you covered. Legal Seafoods has steamed lobsters that range from 1.25-2.5 pounds. If you want a New England seafood feast, the Lobster Bake is something to order. The Lobster Bake features a cup of chowder, 1.25 pound steamed lobster, steamers, mussels, chourico, and corn on the cob. If you have grown up in the Boston area like myself you have probably had a meal at one of there many locations in the region. While it might not be the most upscale gourmet seafood dining experience, Legal Seafood serves fresh simple seafood. There is dependability in dining at Legal Seafood. The chowder is always going to be delicious. The fried clams will always be with the whole bellies. The most important thing that you can depend on is the freshness of the seafood. Legal Seafood will not serve a piece of seafood past its prime. That is something you can count on when dining at Legal Seafood.
